The Estonian company “Forus”, which was previously known in Latvia as a transport services company, continues its rapid business development and expands the areas of activity of the “Forus” brand, and from May 30th it will also start offering full-service security services under the brand name “Forus Security”. It offers full-service security services – security risk audits, technical and physical security, and other services – to both private and public sector companies, as well as to private individuals.

“Forus Security” is not a newly established company, because for 28 years, combining long-term experience and knowledge in the security services industry, the brand has proven itself as one of the leading security companies in Latvia. Currently, “Forus Security” is trusted by around 4,000 clients in Latvia, providing security management and security services to companies such as the shopping center “Spice”, the store chain “Lidl”, “Latvenergo”, the mobile operator “Bite”, the insurance services company “ERGO”, the beverage manufacturer “Coca-Cola”, etc.
During the development of the company, “Forus Security” has historically operated under various company names – from the moment of its founding in 1994 until 2012 as “Avelat Sargs”, then the company was acquired by one of the world’s largest security groups “Securitas”, while in 2021 the company was acquired by the brand “USS” and the company became “USS Latvia”. Today, the company, continuing the development of the brand “Forus”, is changing its name and will be part of the international company “Forus Group”, operating under the brand “Forus Security” and the legal name SIA “Forus Grupa”.
“In general, the security services industry in Latvia has been stagnant in its development for about 20 years, which is influenced by the shadow economy, unregulated public procurement policy, and the lack of strong security solutions companies that would be able to offer the quality of services that meet the times. In order for this to change not only within one company, but throughout the industry as a whole, outdated cooperation models must be changed, modern security system technologies must be invested in, and changes in other sectors must also be able to adapt. “Forus” currently plays a leading role in the Baltics in providing security service solutions and other related services. Our management model is based on core values: in-depth research of customer wishes and needs, creating a modern environment, innovative solutions, and international experience. We abandon traditional and old business models based on the thesis that we do it because we did it yesterday. We create cooperation with our customers and employees that is focused on achieving common goals in a positive, modern environment,” says Jānis Ābele, head of “Forus Security” in Latvia.
The real estate management services business model is part of Forus’ growth strategy, which allows it not only to expand its portfolio of operating assets, but also to create and support the development of new business directions. “I have more than 30 years of experience in the field of services, and during this time there has been a lot of talk in the world about smart solutions. Only in recent years have they become a self-evident necessity in our everyday lives, because the technical solutions underlying them have become simpler, more convenient and more accessible. Nowadays, everyone can manage their home and the smart devices in it via their mobile phone – from opening the garage door, calling the elevator, to everything related to security and monitoring. In this segment, Forus wants to be the leading service provider that lends a helping hand so that you feel safe at home!”, says Urmas Sõõrumaa, founder and owner of Forus.
All of Forus’s activities are based on strong business synergy between Forus as a service provider and society, with the aim of building strong community communities that also participate in the development of Forus. “Forus is a cross-sector company that operates in various business areas and by combining them, we can provide our customers with a unique service package,” emphasizes J. Ābele. For example, if you are our private sector customer, you will be granted a 12 EUR credit that you can use in the Forus transport mobility app when choosing transport services for your daily trips. The credit can be used to cover 10% of each trip and has no expiration date. In turn, business customers will be granted a 10% discount on all trips for the first three months after becoming a Forus ride-sharing business customer.

The long-term business development goal of “Forus” is to become a unique, international service provider not only in the transport services sector, but also by simultaneously including other types of services under one company brand. “Forus”’s long-term business strategy envisages that the brand’s range of services will be supplemented by such business sectors as real estate development and management, courier, food and grocery delivery services, etc. In the summer of 2022, “Forus” entered the Baltic markets with the transport services mobility app “Forus” and a unique “US Token” program to offer an alternative experience to existing transport services. In turn, this spring, “Forus” acquired the largest car sharing platform in the Baltic region and also offers shared car rental services in Latvia.
